![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Richmond, VA, April 6, 2006 -- TrialNet, Inc., a leading provider of web-based the legal industry, announced today its partnership with the City of Phoenix, Ariz. TrialNet's electronic billing service will be rolled out to the City Attorney's Office, as well as its outside law firms, by August 1, 2006. "We are excited about developing a better means of sharing information for the City and look forward to harnessing our knowledge with theirs to enhance the collaborative process between client and counsel," said Kelley Johnston, President of TrialNet. "We feel we are a part of their team and can bring expertise to assist clients in better communicating with their outside counsel." The City of Phoenix has been using the collaborative features of TrialNet's Litigation Databank to facilitate communication with their outside law firms since October 2005. The Databank serves as a searchable repository of pleadings, motions, briefs, etc., that is easily accessible by in-house attorneys and outside law firms. The Databank maximizes productivity by minimizing the need for duplicative and redundant research among law firms, or within any individual firm. Moreover, TrialNet tailored the City's Databank so attorneys can search by issue, type of case, type of document, judge, etc. The obvious next step was for the City to develop the ability to analyze the billing invoices from these same law firms. According to Stephen Craig, Attorney for City of Phoenix, "After looking at several vendors we decided that TrialNet was more flexible with customizations and cost. Also, they provided us with the means to add an Exposure Module that will help us keep track of probable damages, exposure, the likelihood of success at trial, and the negotiation process -- all of which are necessary to manage a case in litigation." TrialNet will integrate the City's e-billing service with the Databank to streamline the process for both the City and its law firms. Members can look at case information to see invoice data as well as the significant documents associated with the case. "Because we are web-based, integrating and customizing features is a relatively easy process." says Debbie Weaver, TrialNet's Vice President of Marketing and Sales. "Developing an Exposure Module for the City of Phoenix will open up doorways for other clients who wish to gain a better understanding of their litigation exposure."
